We want to continue to offer the best experience for our athletes and families in our club.

With an earlier tryout, this allows us to plan ahead in the off-season. We are able to:

• determine a competitive tournament schedule
• reserve hotel blocks
• uniform projections and ordering process

If you registered for summer tryouts, you will automatically be added to our fall tryouts registration list. You do NOT need to register for them separately.

• Copy of a valid USAV Membership card  (see below in FAQ for new members)  
• Juniors Medical Release Form

YES! All clubs require a USAV membership for tryouts and to participate during the club season.  

For new USAV members, there are several options for memberships. Choose what is best for your needs. There is a $15 tryout option that is good for tryouts. If you make a club team, you can upgrade to a full membership.    http://www.iavbreg.org/membership

• If your age definition is telling you to play in a grade younger than what you are in, we (at Iowa Select) encourage you to tryout with your GRADE. If we can not place/offer you on a team in your grade, we will then look at an offer/selection in your age group (EX: Susie is an 8th grader but club age says that she is a 13u, which is typically a 7th grade age group, Susie should attend the 8th grade (14u) tryout first since that is what grade she will enter in this fall.

For those high school athletes that will still be in-season still, you will need to attend after your high school season is completed.

There are no spectators allowed in the gym during any tryouts.

Both tryouts help field our girls teams that compete during the same club season calendar. We run summer tryouts so we can get an early evaluation of the players who are interested in playing on our Mizuno or Black level teams. That same info allows us to continue evaluating players while they are in their school seasons so that we can have the best evaluations possible going into the next year. We also can get a head start on all of the logistics that come with that (practice times, season schedules, hotels, uniform ordering, etc). Regardless of when you receive an offer (summer or fall) you will start your training and season for the 2024-25  calendar year in December.
