Megan Johnson will be our 13 Black Head Coach this year. Megan played 4 years of college volleyball, two years at Blackhawk College and two years at Culver-Stockton College. She graduated from Culver-Stockton College in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Media Communications.
Megan has played every position growing up, but was mostly an outside hitter. In 2019, Megan trained in Brazil with the men's Olympic coach to play beach volleyball. She has 8 years of coaching experience, 3 years at St. Josephs in DeWitt, 1 year at Central DeWitt HS, 1 year with the Saber Powerhitters Club team, 1 year with Assumption High School and now 3 years with Select.
Megan is constantly on the grind with her 6 jobs. (Yes, SIX JOBS!) Megan currently works as the Emcee for the 3 Quad Cities professional sports teams including; Riverbandits Baseball, Storm Hockey and SteamWheelers Arena Football. Along with her coaching job, Megan also juggles being a professional Dancer for the IFL and an On Air Personally for the Dwyer & Michaels Morning Show.
Though she’s extremely busy, volleyball is her life and biggest passion so she always makes time to play in competitive adult leagues.
One of her favorite things to say to her players is, "You don't have to be the biggest or strongest player to win. All you have to do is outsmart the other team."
