Bre Scherler joined the Iowa Select family in the 2020-2021 season, serving as a Master Coach. This season she will be serving as the 13 Mizuno Head Coach and entering her 20th year coaching volleyball. Bre grew up in Davenport, IA and was a 3-year starter at Davenport Central High School as a pin hitter earning all-conference awards and serving as team captain her senior year. She received a scholarship to play at Marycrest International University in 2001 and continued to play her collegiate career at St. Ambrose University. Bre graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2006. After high-school and during college, Bre coached several club teams. After college, Bre spent one year as the sophomore coach and four years as the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at Davenport Central High School. Taking a break for a few years to start a family, she then coached for the Assumption Knights feeder program in 2013 and then began her career at Davenport Assumption High School as the Assistant Head Varsity Coach next to Kyle Condon. Bre left after 9 years at Assumption, being the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at Assumption since 2014 and coached alongside Iowa Select Club Director, Frank Flanagan. Bre left the program with a 197-49 record, has taken her teams to five state appearances (2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021). She leaves the program the winningest volleyball coach. Outside of coaching, Bre enjoys playing grass, sand, and indoor volleyball. She enjoys raising her four children- 17 (Zoey), 15 (Lily), 10 (Violet), and 10 (Max). She has worked for 16 years as the Clinical Compliance Coordinator and Infection Control Chair at Community Health Care, Inc. (CHC), a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that serves all patients including the underserved and uninsured.
